My guess is the Mayan working on the calendar finished, and didn't bother to start the next, thinking something like "someday, idiots will believe this end to be THE end."  Funny.

Hard to believe that 2012 is ten days from its conclusion.  This has been a tumultuous year.  Not just for me, but for many of my friends and my family.  Beyond my own circles, it's been a pretty wild year for almost everyone, it seems.  Unusual weather, economic insanity, instabilities...lots and lots going on out there.

As I have often blogged about in various forms over at The Ramblings of a Titanium Don, people need to do more on their own to take control of their own lives, and their own destinies.

At the end of 2011, I determined that I would not make a New Year's Resolution.  Instead, I took a New Year's Action.  "Do or do not" resonating in my head in that gravelly Muppet voice, I determined I would blog weekly.  And thus was borne Pathwalking.  For the next 51 weeks I posted every week (with a couple exceptions every Wednesday) all year long.  Here is the most recent post in the series.  After much consideration, I am determined to continue Pathwalking into next year.  Also, following a lot of encouragement, I intend to put together my posts for publication as a book, too.

With 2013 about to commence, I need to take another action.  Like the weekly blog - I need to create something I can/should/want to do.

Having turned 40 in September, I know that it is in my best interest to get back into shape.  I need to treat my body better.  I think that this will help me feel better about just about every aspect of my life.  And so - my New Year's Action for 2013 - exercise.  I need to go to the gym at least 3 days a week.  I WILL go to the gym at least 3 days a week.  When the summer comes, I will take advantage of the swimming pool at our complex.  Also - I intend to acquire a new bike.  I miss cycling.

New cycle for the world according to the Mayans.  New cycle continues for ME.  Thanks for coming along!
