The joys of home ownership - part II

"Yeah, we expected that might happen."

Thanks for mentioning that part.

It is not the least disconcerting to be sitting in front the TV, chilling, and hear an inexplicable *CRASH* ^CRUMBLE CRUMBLE^ *THUMP*. Suddenly, the ceiling above my bathtub is IN my bathtub. *sigh*

I guess renovating the bathroom may happen sooner than originally plotted...

Cute avatar!

Yeah this exact thing happened at an apartment I rented. It was loud. No one was even working on the bathroom at the time; I was relieved that no one was showering at the time, either.

Aren't you glad you weren't in your bathtub at the time?

Or that it wasn't the ceiling *below* the bathtub that decided to leap...

Especially if it leaps into his bathtub from below.

I'd pay to see that. Well, no, but it would be amusing nonetheless.

That sucks! I'm so sorry.

I guess letting the sheet rock dry out didn't work so hot, huh? You could just leave it and call it art...

Check for mold now. :-)

Yeah, actually, that would be why it's being left open through the night - I tore down the rest of the ceiling this afternoon. I figure its all pretty damp to begin with, let it dry some so that I DON'T get a lovely mold problem...I'll sheetrock it tomorrow afternoon.
