Answering a question

[profile] ownedbytwins  asked me a question - this is my answer

Who is Victoire?

I am speculating, but given the comment about Teddy snogging her, and if they are together that would REALLY make him one-of-the-family, my guess is she is Bill and Fleur's daughter.  And the name is French, non?

My guess.  Take it for what you will.

I LOVED the ending of this book!  Great exit for the series!

I concur. 1 - the name is French (obviously a nod to Fleur), 2 - Ron and Hermione's kids say that if they married, then Teddy would be their cousin (and Bill is Ron's brother). I don't think it even needs a guess, seems clear.

I thought the end was way too tidy... but as a fan, I looooved it. The one extra thing I would have wanted to know are what jobs they all have.

liked the book. Not a subscriber to white-picket-fence theology myself, but it works.

yes, I assumed it was Fleur and Bill's kid too. :-)

Someone I know made a good point. Harry's life has been so messed up, that the "white picket fence" ending is really actually perfect, because he is finally getting what he always wanted, but did not have.

OK, I will buy Bill and Fleur's kid... I just thought, with everything else completely tidied up, it should have been clearer. I mean, all they really said was that she would be their cousin if she got together with Teddy, so she could have theoretically been George's kid, too...

Come to think, of it, did we see what became of George in the end? And what about things like professions? Were Harry and Ginny both aurors? I mean, care was taken throughout several books to show just how powerful a witch Ginny was, so it seemed anticlimactic to me to just have her married to Harry.

And who raised Teddy anyway? Wasn't Harry his godfather?

Don't get me wrong - I loved the book! I guess I just wanted more. But who didn't?

And thanks, Mal, for setting up the post like this... I didn't think of this, and I didn't know how to do oaken_glen's filter idea...

Is actually short for Victoire de Licim and you can rewrite that as Voldemort

Where did you get that info?

It's in about a dozen media outlets by now. But I first saw mention of the planned encyclopedia on MSNBC.

I was asking about Victoire's full name, not the encyclopedia... I saw that too.

you are right about Victoire...

[livejournal.com profile] icybeth sent me this link: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19959323/

JK did an interview with a bunch of children and answered the question about Victoire and what jobs a few of them have.
