So this was a good trip overall. I do enjoy the desert.
Back in 2005, I chose to hike up Camelback, which is the mountain that lies between Phoenix and Scottsdale. At any rate - I had to tackle it AGAIN. Great hike, pretty strenuous overall.

Ok, so this is Camelback Mtn.
It starts off relatively innocuous.
And then it gets interesting.
In perspective, from above.
It gets crazier.
No railing, no set path. Lots of points like this along the trail.
But at the end of the 1.7 mile excursion, the view is incredible!
It was not easy - last time I did this, it was NOT this hard. On multiple occasions I almost turned back - but I was determined to beat the mountain! However - I have a better perspective on how out of shape I have become - so I have work to do!
Tough as this hike is - I intend to do it again sometime.
