Saturday adventures

So I was adventuring about NJ yesterday, and explored some new-to-me places. Took a lot of photos - and felt the need to share some.

First - this is the Grounds for Sculpture in Hamilton. VERY beautiful grounds, and a lot of interesting sculptures. Some highlights:



This is King Leer. I intend to turn this one into an icon for LJ...very haunting.



This one feels like an MC Escher painting come alive.



Darth Vader's early experiments in Carbonite freezing - Han Solo was his secret masterpiece!



This one is called Nine Muses. Wonder whom this made me think of...



A favorite of mine. Looks like someone landed a spaceship in a pool. Very cool use of the pool to reflect the sculpture!



No, not a sculpture - but these guys were EVERYWHERE! Beautiful plumage! :-)

And then a trek out to Spring Lake. I have not been to the Jersey Shore in nearly 10 years - and I forget just how much I love the ocean!





Completed the day by seeing Up. What a very sweet movie (very funny AND very sad). I only wish I had seen it in 3D!

Fencing at Flemington today. This is a great weekend!

Good shot of the peacock... last time I had the opportunity to take pics of one the little bugger kept turning around at exactly the wrong moment. Pretty sure he was taunting me.

Wow. Those sculptures are pretty cool. The King Lear one looks Japanese/Asian to me. The Nine Muses one reminds me of a temple (as I'm sure that's what it was meant to be), but one in particular, I think in Pompeii.
