Various thoughts on things
Oct. 7th, 2005 02:55 pmFollowing last week's declaration that I would now write a minimum of 1 hour per day, THUS far, I have managed at least daily work - ranging from 15 minutes to 2 hours plus. No, not the hour per day, every day...HOWEVER, this is still more time, per day, that I have put to my craft in the past week plus than I had in MONTHS.
To wit, I finished section 2 of my novel (which I saved as 5 separate files, so as not to risk the single document, the whole hundreds of pages novel, completely lost if the file were corrupted or erased or pick-your-disaster). I am VERY happy with what I have produced - cleaned up several rough spots, fixed the motivation and flow of a key scene, and strengthened, overall, the narrative.
So in late August, I sent an e mail query to an agent...and never heard back from her. I e mailed her again yesterday, and if I don't hear back by next week, I submit the required bits to the next prospective agent. Onwards and forwards - I accept no further delays on making this happen!
Off this weekend to Kingdom Crusades - and hoping the weather deities change their minds, and hold off the rain (at least til late tomorrow night!) After I get home Sunday, I need to do a LOT of writing/editing (to make up for the lack today and tomorrow).
I'll see many of you in Maryland in the next few hours!
