The joys of home ownership - NOT

fencerm2"You should really stop wasting your money on rentals," sayeth my father two years or so ago. "You and your sister should purchase a two family, and build some equity for yourselves."
On paper...good plan. And you can do things like kitchen destruction and tearing things apart and so on and so forth. But then...when things break...you get to deal with those, too.
My sister's bathroom is leaking. Her tub, her sink...and it is above MY bathroom. My ceiling tiles are shot...and now, to fix the problem, the plumbers are tearing up MY bathroom to get at HER pipes. This will be fun...NOT.
They've done nearly all the damage they can do today...they'll be back tomorrow to do more. And put a hole in the wall of HER spare bedroom.
And to conclude this line of thought...only her toilet is usable. So I get to share MY bathroom with my sister and her boyfriend for at least another day, maybe 2 or 3. Oh yes...home ownership...wooo...
On a positive note - submission sent Friday, fingers crossed. And overall, my mood is better. We'll see what the future holds.
