Take action - tell them to stop this!

fencerm2I don't know about all of you, but I am appalled by the chuztpah of our President. He is planning to send MORE troops into Iraq. More. And still there is no time table to get us out of there, and bring our soldiers home.
The President has the power to command the military. Congress can stop the funding, however, and send a message. But our congresspeople need to be reminded about who it is they are supposed to be serving, and they need to assert themselves, and they need to tell our Commander-in-chief that enough is enough.

Follow that link, and find the information about your local congresspeople. E mail, call, write, I don't care what - just let them know that enough is enough, and that they need to stop this pointless war, and bring our soldiers home.
I have been pondering what a big nobody like me can do to try and change this situation. I think if I can get as many people as I know to get as many people as they know to get as many people as they know to contact our leaders, maybe we can get the message out there in a way they cannot ignore. If we flood them with calls and letters and e mails, asking them to not fund additional troops for this pointless conflict, maybe they will listen. And maybe they can get the guy at the top to pay attention, too.
More troops did not work for Vietnam. More troops so far in Iraq have done nothing to quell the violence. How many more men and women will the President sacrifice in a land far from our own shores, before his bloodlust is sated?
I don't know how many people agree with me, and I don't know if this will do much good. But at least it is something.
