Ok, so there is a LOT going on in my world right now. It borders on overwhelming...but I am managing to keep my head above water, so far.
Saturday is Coronation - and there are lots of fun little last minute things to be completed before then. I know it wasn't the answer certain people wanted from me, but I feel that after this, I DO need a break from autocrat work for a while. Too close to burn-out for my liking.
There are of course many complicated things in my personal and professional life going on these days - but I am still not comfortable with this forum for posting all of that. Most of you reading this stuff know me...but I think I resisted creating a LiveJournal for such a long time because I have limited comfort with sharing personal bits and pieces. Part of why I do so many quizzes and such, rather than posts like this.
Anyhow...on a totally different note and topic - this is not a call to panic or a call to arms, this is a suggestion. No matter how much fuel you currently have in your car - fill up before this weekend. When the latest gulf hurricane hits, the wonderful price gouging gas companies are very likely going to jack the prices to surreal levels, at least for a little while. I suggest a better safe than sorry approach - which beats being caught off guard. I listened to the Marketplace Morning Report on NPR en route to work this morning - and the doom and gloom predictions were kinda disturbing.
I look very forward to seeing so many of my friends this weekend - its good to have something positive to think about.
That's enough for now. Back to work for me!

Date: 2005-09-22 03:25 pm (UTC)Actually, I keep a paper journal still...not often, but its there.
I've always kept personal things to myself, but I became an even more private person following some stupid incidents people (not even directly involved) took out of context and used to judge my "character" (or lack thereof). Even now, YEARS later, I still occasionally must deal with the repercussions of that time, too.
But thank you for the comment. Something I will certainly consider...

Date: 2005-09-22 04:02 pm (UTC)and when spoken to or of about it just walk away.
The old addige (sp) if you ignore something it will go away works.
You believe in yourself, and know who you are, who gives a rats ass what some dopy ass uninformed uninvolved jackasses think?
Seriously people are stupid, and feel the need to be all up in other people's business.. they need to get a life, and by reacting you are just givening them what they want.. even speaking of it makes it as though they are winning, and they see it as winning. Just don't give them the satisfaction.
my 2 cents.. use or don't use as you see fit.

Date: 2005-09-22 04:37 pm (UTC)I think I know who I am. And that which I am unsure of, I am working on.
Most importantly learning, slowly, to not care so much about what "people" think of me. Not so important - and my friends know me for who I am, and thats all that really matters.
I'm being quite introspective today, it seems...

Date: 2005-09-22 03:18 pm (UTC)One Coronation question. Can I get in to the site tomorrow night? I know you may not have an answer right now, but as soon as you do could you let me know?
I promise I will fill my gas tank and not run the air conditioning (o:

Date: 2005-09-22 03:28 pm (UTC)Hey, drive as you will...I only make my suggestion because when they jacked prices over $3 a gallon it caught most people off guard - and I suspect this next hike will go over $3.50...but like all the people involved directly in the problem, this is mere speculation.
I would LOVE to be wrong about that.

oooh ... common sense ...
Date: 2005-09-22 04:29 pm (UTC)I understand about wanting to keep things private as well, being that kind of person as well at times. Do what you need to do, then if you have to go beat up goth giants and hooded warriors.
