Yesterday was one of the most productive days I have ever had at this job.

I spent the day in Hudson County, at the courthouse in Jersey City, digging through a number of public documents, exploring the involvement of one of the parties in one of my firm's cases in a rather large number of other cases.  I found some fascinating info, and actually felt my first sense of accomplishment I have felt here in a long time now.

A little over a year as a Paralegal.  Nope, not the career path of my choice - but its been a year of good stable pay, and a fair amount of job security.  I complain about this job a lot to many of you...but that does not reduce my gratitude that I have it.  Thank you [livejournal.com profile] lumineaux

[Bad username or unknown identity: Finally, I am really moving the story along.  I have only a couple more weeks to complete it...][Bad username or unknown identity: and Friday I intend to submit a query to another agent.  But I will meet my goal!]

Every year I am SO tempted to try NaNoWriMo.. but considering all I do is complain about how I have no free time, I'm thinking this isn't the right year for it. But as they say, hope springs eternal. I can't wait to see how you do.

ah but if writing is the priority...you still won't have any free time and you'll feel fed up or guilty for not writing enough...

I know you've been pretty busy of late, judging by your posts...but, hey, i figure to try and fail is still, for me at least, better than doing nothing at all.

Oh, I'm not saying it's not worth trying. I just have too many days a week right now where I can't even take an hour a day to write - too much other stuff prioritized - stuff that I can't go "Eh, I'll write instead" (like teaching, packing, moving). I think it's such a GREAT thing to do, though. Deadlines really can work, as does a sense of community.
