I had a good weekend. Experienced the Pumpkin Festival in Keene, NH. My only complaint - wouldn't you think that a pumpkin festival would offer lots of pumpkin-related foodstuffs? You know, like pumpkin bread, pumpkin fries, pumpkin flavored beverages? Aside from pumpkin pie - not so much. Weird...

I am totally not here today. I don't want to be physically here - I am moody, I am tired, and I don't know if its the weather (between the grey, rain, and cold I'm less-than-thrilled), my disinterest with my job (sorry [livejournal.com profile] lumineaux - you know I appreciate you finding me this job - but my interest in what I do here has faded further and further over the year), the anticipation of the coming winter (not looking forward to the cold), the continued unrest in the world at large (politics, storm damage, terror bullshit, and more personally - the depression/lethargy of several of my friends), or some combo of all of the above - but I would rather be home, and either napping or writing.  My get up and go stayed in bed I think...

I haven't a clue what to do.  So I guess I am bitching to anyone reading this.  Or it it complaining?  Whining?  Kvetching?  Some terrible combo of all of the above?

I can relate to the Blah's. Except the work, I just started here and that is the exciting part. But the cold and the fact that next weekend is both Samhain and we turn back the clocks has me feeling blahhh...winter is coming and I've got so much stuff to do before that! I guess I need to get off my butt and get it done this week.

Hey sometime when you are up this way we should all get together!

More like putting into words what a lot of us are feeling. Although I had some decent bouts of energy over the weekend, once I did something, I felt like I needed a rest afterwords. I'm now back at my desk (just had lunch with some coworkers) and I'm ready for a nap.

Maybe it's a hybernation thing??? They sky is grey, it's not as light as long (I hate waking up in the dark), it's colder, winter is coming. blah.

When I have those kinds of blahs, I find that doing more and more vigorous exercise helps. It's hard to get off my butt to get started, but once I've done it, I feel better.

Hey, I saw Scott Stull this weekend. He and his wife were down for an Archealogical conference in Trenton. We met them for dinner Saturday night. He says hi and sends his hellos. I told him I'd pass along some LJ links for him to read.
