I wanted to build a PC. Seen it done, helped do it a few times...how hard could it be?

Made a mistake or two, figured them out - and it starts! BUT - it won't run Windows. WTF? It keeps rebooting. Baronan tells me Windows might need to be reloaded - probably doesn't recognize the new hardware (Motherboard, CPU, RAM, and a new DVDRW).

Tried the disk...not working. It doesn't want to accept that I accept the terms, blah blah blah. *sigh*

Too tired to do this anymore tonight. Glad I still have my I-Book - but wondering if I should have sunk the additional $100+ and just acquired a new PC. :-(

This might not be helpful, but even professionals have days like that. I have watched people who get paid to do exactly that for a living run up against such issues. The invective would do sailors (and pirates) proud.

Let me know if you have a hard time getting borrowed XP Pro disks. I will see if I have any pull left with my sysadmin friends.

I found a UNIX networking guru who might be able to help me through my own issues.

Every once in a while I swear folks have to sacrifice something to the gods of technology. I have watched professionals fail to install scanners. "This won't take a minute." I watch for the next 3 hours as a scanner defeats a paid professional and I have to go to kinkos to get my scanning done. :)

Anyway, you will be fresher later on today and might look at it again and the problem could be obvious.

Luck

Thank you.

I am currently thinking I will acquire a copy of Windows XP, and reload that to the HD, which will hopefully start it. See no reason why it wouldn't...

Thanks. Will probably play with this again tonight. After fencing.
