It has taken me a lot longer than I expected.
I missed the goal I set, publicly, here, by 6, technically 7 days. But at long last - I have finished editing Seeker.
I'm at that point between laughter and tears. This story has taken on such a life, such a depth over the years, I can't begin to express how I feel about its completion. Again.
It began in 1998. It was professionally edited for the first time in the spring of 2003. I have reworked this novel based on that edit three times now, and the completed text tonight is six hundred plus pages, double spaced. Seeker is finally complete, and I believe I am finally telling the story I have wanted to for so long now, with all the necessary depth and background.
I still have the goal of writing for one hour per day minimum to keep...and I have a project for NaNoWriMo that is barely begun. But I can focus on it now. And when an agent wants to see all of Seeker - it can finally be available to him or her.
And I could always begin to rewrite Finder, the first sequel to Seeker. It is done - but its been waiting to be edited and rewritten for a long while now...
