It has taken me a lot longer than I expected.
I missed the goal I set, publicly, here, by 6, technically 7 days. But at long last - I have finished editing Seeker.
I'm at that point between laughter and tears. This story has taken on such a life, such a depth over the years, I can't begin to express how I feel about its completion. Again.
It began in 1998. It was professionally edited for the first time in the spring of 2003. I have reworked this novel based on that edit three times now, and the completed text tonight is six hundred plus pages, double spaced. Seeker is finally complete, and I believe I am finally telling the story I have wanted to for so long now, with all the necessary depth and background.
I still have the goal of writing for one hour per day minimum to keep...and I have a project for NaNoWriMo that is barely begun. But I can focus on it now. And when an agent wants to see all of Seeker - it can finally be available to him or her.
And I could always begin to rewrite Finder, the first sequel to Seeker. It is done - but its been waiting to be edited and rewritten for a long while now...

"Goals are dreams with deadlines." -Diana Scharf Hunt
and most importantly:
"The tragedy of life doesn't lie in not reaching your goal. The tragedy lies in having no goals to reach." -Benjamin Mays
So you were a little off. You stuck to it though, and reached the end.. never knowing exactly how far ahead of you the goal line was.
Keep up the good work.
When you do get to be rich and famous after your book is published, remember those of us who 'knew you when'.
