I was reading the AP story on Yahoo how the Republicans blocked the Democrat's vote of No Confidence on the Attorney General.  Partisanship - what a shocker.  BUT this response, from the President, really puts the whole thing into perspective:

"They can have their votes of no confidence, but it's not going to make the determination about who serves in my government." 

That makes it pretty clear to me.  'My government'?  Mr. President, last I checked, this is OUR government - you and yours serve at OUR pleasure.  You are supposed to represent a government 'by the people, for the people' - but you make it abundantly clear this is not so.  You serve the masters who give you the best kickbacks, or else you'd heed the voice of the people of this nation, and do something about global warming, withdraw from the civil war in Iraq that we created, and push the necessary research to get us off our dependence of oil.

Thank the Powers-that-be that this will only be your goverment for another year.  And I deeply hope your successor, no matter what party he or she comes from, remembers who it is they are supposed to be serving.
