1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the sentence in your journal along with these instructions.
5. Don't search around and look for the coolest book you can find. Do what's actually next to you.

"This is true up to the energies of pulverizing matter into bits as small as a billionth of a billionth of a meter, the current technological limit."

The Elegant Universe by Brian Greene
Non-fiction all about string theory and quantum physics and such, which I have been occasionally reading through since summer.  VERY slow going, but fascinating all-the-same.

"He advised the emperor regarding which phases of the moon were best for seeking counsel, and told Frederick not to have his blood let while the moon was in Gemini, for fear that he would be punctured twice rather than once."*

Richard Kieckhefer - Magic in the Middle Ages

"[bunch of Japanese characters] How long are you staying?"

For better or worse, the only book within arm's reach is the Berlitz Japanese phrase book. ;)

"She opened her arms and all of her seemed to open to me, but it only closed me deeper into myself, carrying with me the image of her at that time, how lush and soft she was." Ask The Dust by John Fante

And no it isn't a romance novel! :P
