I am humbled. I am awed. I was stunned. No photos can do justice to the enormity and majesty of this place. And these are just 3 of the photos I took today. I took a lot.

This shot is cool. Clouds rolling across the canyon. Snow followed.

At another point along the canyon, I came across this huge crow. (Actually, I think it is a raven).

It was incredible. And depending on the weather...I may attempt to return to the rim at sunrise.

Just...wow.

You can say that again. Pictures don't do it justice, it's simply breathtaking.

And if you can get there, I *highly* recommend getting there before sunrise. Ernst made sure to drag my ass out there to see the sun come up over the Grand Canyon. It's an experience I'll never really forget.

Awesome! Gorgeous photos, and I imagine it must be a bajillion times more amazing in person.

In my thus far vague plans to drive cross country next fall, the only two must-see places on my list so far are the Grand Canyon and Montana. I'm glad to see that it will be worthwhile. :)

Yep, Still jealous.

The Grand Canyon and Yosemite and a couple of redwood stands are on my list for the grand epic journey.

These pics solidified that desire.

Oh and I'm pretty sure your bird is a raven. Need to see the beak in profile to be sure and really hear the voice, crows and ravens are one of the few birds I can ID by call.

Nope, the difference is in the curve of the beak, the primary feathers when in flight, and the voice. There might be yellow beaked crows, but I'm not familiar with them. Crows and ravens are very similar, but ravens are about 1/3 larger than the largest crows.

Nope. No 2-d images can do justice to this utterly 3-dimensional thing. No matter how many pictures we see of it, it's always a knockout in person.

Tadcaster follows you everywhere you go!

(Yes, it's a raven. The beak shape is a giveaway.)
